Dress Your Animal Contest

Open to everyone, the dress your animal contest is a fun competition that allows youth and adults to dress themselves and animals to a specific theme. A commentary will be read as the contestant parades themselves and their animal in the show ring.

Rules: This contest is open to all youth and adults in Routt County. Animals may be any pets or livestock, preferably led or carried into the ring. Unsafe animals will be asked to leave the ring. Participants must prepare a 200 word or less commentary that will be read as the exhibitor parades in the show ring.

All commentaries and entries must be turned in by 9am, one hour before the contest to the 4H Office (in the northeast corner of the MPB).

The contest is judged on the following criteria:
Commentary 10 points
Overall Creativity 20 points
Uniformity between participant and animal 20 points
Handling ability of animal 10 points
Awards will be given by age division, not species of animals.
Classes: All Ages as of January 1st of the current year. (Classes may be combined or changed at the discretion of the superintendents)
Mini Youth up to age 7
Junior age 8-13
Intermediate age 14-18
Open Class 18 and up.
