A collection of recipes from those with ties to the Routt County Fair, celebrating 100 years in 2014. The book includes local recipes, blue ribbon recipes, recipes shared by families with connections to our Colorado county and its robust County Fair. They are recipes pioneers brought with them from "home" and recipes that evoke memories of rows of luscious cakes and clear jars of home canned pickles. Fair Family Favorites represents the cream of the crop in Routt County, Colorado!

Favorite Recipe

Bobby Robinson's Barbecue Sauce
By: Ed Camilletti and Don Bruchez

  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Lemon juice
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Swamp Water plus some of the "good stuff"
  • Salt and pepper

Based on the legendary Bobby Robinson's original recipe, Ed Camilletti says, "It's kind of a secret!". This is the sauce used to baste the meat that is slow-cooked over the coals at Bobby's Swamp Water Saloon and served at the annual Routt County 4-H Barbecue at the Routt County Fair. Specifics on ingredients and instructions can be found in the Fair Family Favorites Cookbook.
